Armed To The Teeth
the sun is settin on the century, and we are armed to the teeth we are all working together now to make our lives mercifully brief schoolkids keep trying to teach us what guns are all about confuse liberty with weaponry
and watch your kids act it out every year now like Christmas some boy gets the milk-fed sub-urban blues reaches for the available arsenal and saunters off to make the news and women in the middle are learning that poor women have always known that the edge is closer than you think when your men bring the guns home
look at where the profits are that's how you'll find the source of the big lie that you and i both know so well
it the time it takes this cultural death wish to run its course they're gonna make a pretty penny and then they're all going to hell he said the chickens all come home to roost yeah, malcom forecasted this flood are we really gonna sleep through another century while the rich profir off our blood? true, it may take some doing to see this undoing done....

We Will Rise Up. We Will Crush You...
1. You can imprison my body. You cannot cage my ideals.
2. You can misrepresent my person. You cannot misrepresent what we stand for.
3. By starving me, you only encourage the hunger of others.
4. You can kill me, you cannot kill the revolution. You cannot kill the hatred.
5. You can breed ignorance, but we are already enlightened, and we will continue to propagate.
No longer do you have the means to supress us. We will subvert you. We will rise up against you; and we WILL crush you.

Take A Look Around And You Will Find Out Why...
The question they keep asking me
how can one so young be so bitter and angry
Well, the answer is plain to see
maybe if they wern't so blind they'd see what I see
I see the homeless livin' out on the street
on every corner they're asking for money
I try to help them whenever I can
but sometimes I can't afford to help myself
I see diseases and modern plagues of our times
the greed of our leaders has made them blind
to our problems
They spend millions overseas,
people right here are fightin' wars everyday
I see the whites that hate the blacks
blacks against the jews, race against religion
And the're all too blind to see
When we fight each other it puts all of them at ease
it keeps us so busy, so they can do what they please
election time comes and they're out for votes
that's when you see and hear from them the most
this is what they're calling a democracy
that's just another word for hypocrisy
we keep fallin' for the bait
when we realize, it's always too late
I see the whites that hate the blacks
blacks that hate the jews, brother against brother
and they're all to blind to see
As the rich get richer, the poor goin' hungry
I've seen the toll it takes on the workingman's family
education system that's obsolete
can't hold a kid's interest or keep 'em off the street
see a father's fear, hear a mother's cry
what kind of a nation lets their children die
government's corrupt and full of red tape
then you're gonna ask me why i hate
Why don't you open up your eyes so you can see
open up your ears so you can hear
take a look around and you will find
take a look around and you will find out why
how can one so young be so bitter and angry

I Believe
I believe that joy defines sucess.
I'm aware of what causes my happiness.
I believe the distance of my reach is far beyond what
I ever dreamed.
What I dreamed shaped my creed.
All I need is self-belief.
It's all you ever really need.
I believe their world is misery.
I'm aware they speak the language of despair.
I believe in seeing through the fear.
The fear of the future that's breeding mediocrity
The opposition fuels the fire
And only strengthens my desire
To break away from what's expected
And throw it in their face.
The opposition makes me dream
Of how much better I can be
To outshine their drab existence
And throw it in their face.
I'm aware of what causes my happiness.
I believe the distance of my reach is far beyond what
I ever dreamed.
What I dreamed shaped my creed.
All I need is self-belief.

A Descant Of Dissent...
"Men in authority will always think that criticism of their policies is dangerous. They will always equate their policies with patriotism, and find criticism subversive."
Henry Steele Commager
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama told Congress on Wednesday "the time for bickering is over" and called for quick action on a comprehensive healthcare overhaul that would dramatically transform the U.S. health system and insurance market. In a high-stakes speech, Obama said lawmakers were "closer to the goal of reform than we have ever been" and spelled out a series of proposals he said would improve stability for those with insurance and expand the options for those without. He issued a sharp rebuke to critics of his healthcare drive, accusing them of substituting scare tactics for honest debate."I will not waste time with those who have made the calculation that it's better politics to kill this plan than improve it," he told a joint session of Congress and a national television audience. "If you misrepresent what's in the plan, we will call you out."Obama delivered the speech in hopes of rejuvenating his flagging push for an overhaul of the $2.5 trillion healthcare system, which has bogged down in Congress amid a flood of criticism. He said his overhaul was aimed at cutting healthcare costs, improving care, regulating insurers to help protect consumers and expanding coverage to more than 46 million uninsured Americans. As promised, he spelled out several concepts he wanted to see included in any final bill passed by Congress, including creation of an insurance exchange where individuals and small businesses could shop for policies. He also reiterated his support for a government-run insurance plan -- the so-called "public option" -- that has drawn strong opposition from critics who say it would harm insurance companies and amount to a government takeover of the industry. But he made it clear the lack of a public option in any final bill would not be a deal-breaker."The public option is only a means to that end -- and we should remain open to other ideas that accomplish our ultimate goal," he said.Obama said he would prohibit insurers from dropping coverage for sick patients and capping coverage in a year or lifetime, would place a limit on out-of-pocket expenses, and require insurers to cover routine check-ups. He said individuals would be required to have insurance, but he promised tax credits to individuals who cannot afford it.In the Senate, months of bipartisan Finance Committee talks by the so-called "Gang of Six" negotiators moved into the final stages earlier in the day as the panel's Democratic chairman, Max Baucus, said it was time to proceed with or without Republicans.

They're Coming For You:
It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen. Winston Smith, his chin nuzzled into his breast in an effort to escape the vile wind, slipped quickly through the glass door of Victory Mansions, though not quickly enough to prevent a swirl of of gritty dust from entering with him....
